Using SWFContent in a non-module position 1 Year, 8 Months ago Karma: 0
I have an SWF banner, which I want to load in the top, leftmost position of my home page - there isn't a module position there. Take a look at www.aus4017.com, wher I want to replace the Logo and website name with the SWF.

Any thoughts on how I can overcome that problem. I have the banner uploaded in the /images folder and can view it using cPanel, but don't know how to call it from the HTML or CSS.

Thanks in advance,

John

Hi John,

You can create your own module position, where your logo is.

Add by <positions> for example <position>logotopleft</position> in the file /templates/yourtemplate/templateDetails.xml and then add <jdoc:include type="modules" name="logotopleft" style="none" /> to the /templates/yourtemplate/index.php, in the HTML code between <div id="header_graphic"> and the </div>.

Then you should have a new template position logotopleft in the backend, where you can add the swf.

Hope this is a help for you.

Best regards,

Milton,
This post was very helpful. I think I've succeeded with what you advised. Being a newbie, however, I don't know how to add the swf in a special position like the new template position I created (I can add it easily enough in most other positions).
Thanks,
Ian

Hi Ian,

You should be able to choose the module position in the settings of the module (Extensions->Module Manager) on the left, by "Position". If not, it must be missing in the "templateDetails.xml" of your template.

To add an SWF press on the "insert/edit Flash"-Button at the right.

Best regards,

empty"/nnThere are many types of greetings that are used in divergent situations, depending on the rank of intimacy between the people, habits of day, or the circumstances of the meeting.

I would like you to just rumour: "Hello, you are most acceptable".
